How To Maintain Vaginal Health with Apple Cider Vinegar

Hello My People!

Today I am sharing with you one of my most popular posts from my former blog (TheSkinnyOnSkin101)!

This particular post has helped many women and since I’m now transitioning my blog I just had to start with this one.

I did a series on the benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV- from here on out) and I’m going to start sharing some of this information with you.

IAmTassie.com will be bringing some serious issues and topics to the table so stay tuned, better yet… be sure to subscribe!

For now…. enjoy this post and it is truly my desire that it helps you live a more Sustainable and Holistic life!

I’m sure many of you have used ACV at least one time in your life BUT during this series I hope to challenge you to try it in a different way.

Today, I’m getting personal, and believe it or not I’m comfortable with it because I feel it is important to address issues that may seem like the unspoken topics that not everyone wants to talk about for what ever reason.  Don’t get me wrong I had a few hesitations about this topic but I had to quickly cast them aside because when I really think about it, I know I am not the only one who has ever had a particular issue or concern on a more “personal or intimate” level and neither are you…we are not alone.

So, yes we are going to talk about Vaginal Health today, so if you are a male you may not be able to relate but if you know a female that could use this information please feel free to share it.  Alright now here goes…

First, I’m not going to break down all the wonderful benefits of ACV, you can “Google That”  because there are hundreds of websites out there that shares this information and I do mean hundreds. So the information is out there.  I simply want to share how ACV can help improve your vaginal health in hopes that it will help you either now or in the future.  The gist is that ACV is an amazing cleansing, balancing, healing, and energizing product.  My favorite is the BRAGG brand, however I have used many others.

I always look for the ACV with the “Mother” in it which is important to me for the authentic aspect which translates to me as a less processed ACV.  If you know of another one that you like please feel free to use that.

Now, as I have become a little older I have come to realize that as a female our vagina’s (I’ll just refer to it as the “Lower Region” to keep it classy) can become a little sensitive.  Outside of the fact that we actually birth other human beings into this world, one after another, after another, after another…you get the point. That area is extremely delicate. One of the issues that women deal with when it comes to the “Lower Region” is it can become easily agitated and irritated, which can come from the food we eat, our underwear of choice, detergents, soaps, hormonal imbalance, etc.  I’ve experienced a few moments myself of severe irritation and discomfort and I only wish I knew then, what I know now.

So here are some tips based off of what I know now and how I handle a moment of discomfort in the “Lower Region”

1. DON’T CLEAN IT!

Now, I know your mouth just dropped or you gave me the side eye but wait…there’s more.  Stop using soap on your most delicate skin.  Soap is one of the MAIN causes of irritation and discomfort, on top of that it kills the GOOD bacteria that protects it from bad bacteria a.k.a yeast overgrowth.  It is also another cause of vaginal (lower region) odor.

2.  Watch what you eat

For me its SUGAR, I find that if I have gone on a sweet tooth binge I am more prone to irritation and discomfort, most of the time I can feel it coming right before I take the last bite of a decadent sweet morsel, my body will begin to twitch in the “lower region” and then I realize “This may not be a good idea” and I just have to “walk away from the sweets”.  But whatever it is for you, pay attention to your body it will tell you when something doesn’t agree with the “lower region”. I’m not even going to give you a list of the things you should eat because I’m sure…you already know.  A lot of times we turn a blind eye to the things we know we are supposed to do because the other stuff seems more appealing.  The truth is if you have lived any number of days, you know the importance of increasing fresh fruits, vegetables, water, non fatty meats, and good carbs and fats into your lifestyle.  But don’t just listen to me listen to your body.

3. Keep Hydrated

We all know the importance of water…Drink it!  But also drink herbal teas because many herbs are known for healing the cells and body internally and helping with hydrating and balancing the body as well. (i.e. green tea, chamomile, rooibos, mint, etc.)

How to use ACV for Vaginal Health:
Add water and ACV to a CLEAN Spray bottle (dollar store has some)  at a ratio of 1/2 water and 1/2 ACV

I keep my spray bottle in the shower for convenience.  While in the shower spray the “lower region” thoroughly then gently wipe and rinse. Here is a FAIR WARNING if at this time you are a little irritated, you will “feel the burn” but it goes away and you will feel so much better after doing this.

You can even do this on the toilet with a spray bottle of warm water and ACV mixture for times when its most irritable or if this works better for you.  Spray the area thoroughly and gently wipe away.  The warm water makes it a bit more relaxing and comfortable.  You may need to do this for a couple of days depending on how you feel.
OK, does anyone else feel a little awkward right now?  But seriously I am sharing this information because I know someone needs to know this and I am speaking from experience.  Using ACV for vaginal health has changed my life.

Why is it so effective?  Because it creates a topical balance and cleanses without stripping away the healthy barrier we need to stay fresh and clean.  Our bodies have to stay balanced for good health overall and I’ve found this method to be very effective with maintaining that health.

Some may be wondering, can I do this everyday?  That is completely up to you.  I would recommend only as needed  or until your desired results.  Again I would also say. listen to your body and make that decision based on how you feel.

Take good care of your lower region and it will take good care of you!

Have you ever tried ACV for your “Lower Region”? If so feel free to share your thoughts…keep it classy. Is there more you would like to know in reference to this topic? Let me know!
